		<description>Hey, I knew we&#039;d agree on something eventually.

I&#039;ve heard it said that balancing the branches of government -- i.e. Democrats holding the Presidency while Republicans control the Legislature, or vice-versa -- is a good way to keep things like spending in check. This kind of makes me wonder if there&#039;s some merit to that.</description>

		<description>I&#039;m afraid I have to agree with you on this.  The record of the Republicans on spending is indefensible.  They have been playing defense, avoiding criticism of unpopular spending reductions while basking in the political glory of irresponsible expenditures.</description>
