Don’t hold your breath waiting for your first prediction to come true. And if “they” refers to Democrats, your second prediction will only be accurate when McCain wins the White House.

I’m not too worried about it though. Once a Democrat is in the White House next year, they’ll suddenly remember how important accountability and transparency are at the federal level.

Mitch Johnson is not accountable to voters. He’s never been held accountable by city council.

This week’s dog and pony show didn’t change a thing.

On the other hand, the reality is that our city council is not accountable to voters either.

That’s never been clearer than the recent nonsense.

We are.

Step One, get rid of Mitch Johnson, and the festering rot within the city staff.

Step Two, get rid of power-broker/special interest politics that dominate this town.

Step Three, fire the majority of the current city council, including the mayor.

Step Four, hold accountable all the people who have made this sordid mess possible…….including the apologists and the enablers of bad government.

let’s say for the sake of argument he was fired for no cause (or “at will,” which happens to be legally acceptable in many states in non-union gigs), if all the “unjustly” fired people in greensboro had a weekly column dedicated to their “unjust” firings, we’d be living in soapopera-boro.

city government: modernize to an information retrieval system that cuts out the meat space requests and allows people to download *all public accessible documents* online. and no, not without validating their identity.
